Huawei’s Pura X View: Rethinking the Glass Slab
While Honor focuses on moving parts, Huawei is reimagining the traditional screen aspect ratio. With the launch of the Pura X View, Huawei has introduced a noticeably wider non-foldable device designed to bridge the gap between traditional smartphones and modern media consumption habits.
The Pura X View features a unique 16:9.5 aspect ratio across its singular 6.39-inch OLED display. This wider canvas offers a distinctly different ergonomic feel, moving away from the increasingly tall and narrow screens that have become the industry standard.
Despite housing an immense 7,000mAh battery, Huawei has managed to keep the device remarkably sleek. The Pura X View boasts an ultra-thin 6.68mm profile and weighs just 201 grams. This wide-screen approach suggests that there is still room to innovate on the classic slate form factor without needing a hinge or a folding screen.
